What you get

A new website, or a thoughtful refresh of the one you have.

I bring the content, design, and technical details together into something clear and useful, so people understand your business and know what to do next.

  • Works everywhere

On phones, tablets, laptops, and big screens, and for people using a keyboard, a screen reader, or larger text.

  • Fast

Lean pages with no page builder or pile of plugins, so they load quickly.

  • Secure by design

Managed websites are plain pages, with no database or plugins for anyone to break into. Self-service websites are kept patched and backed up.

  • Easy to find

Clear page titles and accurate business details, in the format search engines and AI assistants read.

  • Words that work

Help with writing and editing, so people understand what you do and what to do next.

  • A contact form without the spam

Practical spam protection, with no puzzles for your visitors.

  • Private by default

No ad trackers or cookie banners, unless you choose to add them.

  • Yours

The finished site and its content belong to you, ready to host wherever you like.

  • Looked after, if you like

Host it with me for monitoring, updates, and the ability to undo any change, or take it to a host of your choice.

Managed or self-service

Choose who makes the changes: me, or you.

Managed websites

Send me what’s changed and I update the site for you. There’s no software to learn and no login to keep track of.

Self-service websites

You make the updates yourself. When listings, events, products, or other details change often, you get a simple way to edit them, with sensible guardrails and a short guide. I keep the software behind it secure and up to date.

How pricing works

A clear price before any work starts.

Every project starts with a conversation and a written proposal. It sets out what I’ll do, what it costs, and what I’ll need from you.

Ongoing care, such as hosting, monitoring, backups, and updates, is a prepaid fee for keeping things running rather than hourly billing. Your proposal says exactly what it includes.

If you’re a non-profit or charity, I’m glad to work with you at a reduced rate. Tell me about your cause and what would help.

Questions

What do I need to start?

A short description of what you want the website to do is enough. If you have an existing site, text, photos, or a logo, bring those too, and I’ll help work out the rest.

Can you work with the site I already have?

Yes. A refresh can keep what works, such as your domain, content, and the way people already find you, and improve the rest.

Can you build a design I already have?

Yes. If you or your agency already has a design, I can build it into a finished website, including a short-lived campaign site.

Who owns the website?

You do. A managed website is handed over as the finished site and its content, which you can host anywhere. The tools I use to build it stay with me. For a self-service website, what you own and what I manage is written into the proposal.

Do I have to host it with you?

No. I can hand over the finished site for you, or someone else, to host. Ongoing care is only for sites I host, since I can only look after what I run.
